The Regional Dance Competition schedule and line up is finally ready and posted to the WACPC website! It has been added to the competitions page. Dancers will be driving to and from the competition as a team!
An end of the season schedule has been composed as well, please click on the file below to check it out.
For those of you who don't already know, the banquet has been scheduled for Sunday, March 13th at 4:30 pm at Morningstar Golf Course.

Hope you all had a good, relaxing break! We are approaching the last 2 months of the season with the Badger State Competition this upcoming Sunday, January 10th. We have not received the line up yet but attached is a general outline of the day. We will Leave West approximately 7-7:15 am and we are expected to leave Sun Prarie at approximately 5:30-6:00 pm. Please be at West by 6:45 am! See Competitions/What to Pack Tab for packing list!

A big congratulations goes out to all of you for a great football season! Thank you to our captains for leading the team through the long, but fun-filled season, and to all of the parents and dancers who helped with choreography, selling t shirts/bracelets/etc, hosting team dinners, planning the state breakfast, planning a successful kiddie clinic, fundraising and all of the help and generosity it took to get us through the first half of our season.

7/22/15 Update
Hi, Everyone! With the end of the summer fast approaching, we have lots to get done along with some updates and reminders: ATTENTION JUNIORS- in order to be considered for a 2016-2017 captain's position you will need to complete one or more of the following:
FORMS & FEES- As stated in the beginning of the season, all athletic forms/fees will be due to Teri by August 4th. See Teri Abraham in the office, see below for directions on how to find these forms on the athletic's website or look in "forms/flyers" section for what you may need. Please let us know if you have any questions. Remember that late paperwork results in 2 demerits! Dance (formerly Kiddie) Clinic- These are the parents who have signed up to run kiddie clinic at the parent meeting in May: Sandi Nancy Suzanne Swain Amy Lalios Donna Kraklow Stacey Schultz Hope Gronewold Linda Sheedy Deb Maloney Lisa Hetzel Heidi Young Kristin Yoder Michelle Foote If you were not at this meeting and want to be involved just let us know. With being in graduate school (Katie M) and running a studio (Katie G), we are not available in the evenings to run parent meetings and will need to hand this task back over to the parents. If someone would like to put a meeting together to get the kiddie clinic started, that would be great! Our captains are already getting started with an elementary school/middle school sign up to promote the clinic as well. Pick n Save Brat Fry- We have heard good things about these brat fries! If a parent/dancer wants to look into doing one of these on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, that would be great. Apparently Pick n Save will provide the meat. It's worth looking into! Personal Fundraiser 8/4- 8/18- We will be ordering warm up jackets for the girls soon. These will be personalized and the girls will need to purchase these themselves. We are going to start with the KEEP Jewelry Fundraiser. This is optional for those of you who want to fundraise for the jackets. Thanks to Heidi Young for setting this up! We now have a Chili's Fundraiser going on until October 1st. Please share to social media, friends, family and work! Anytime you eat at Chili's on Sunset, show the attached flyer. A portion of the bill will go to our team. If you happen to go to Chili's and forget the flyer, they are able to look our team up and give us credit that way as well. This flyer will be sent to Remind as well, so you always have it in your phones. It has been attached as a PDF and Document.
JAZZ- We have a good start to our JAZZ routine! Don't forget that we will be holding some sort of tryout when it is finished. If you'd like the recording to use for practice, just text us. REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING UP ANYTHING YOU MISS IF YOU ARE GONE! COMING TO PRACTICE UNPREPARED WILL RESULT IN DEMERITS. HOMECOMING- Per tradition, the girls usually make something to wear for the homecoming game. Just a heads up that everyone will need to have their black leos by then. Everyone will also need to have a pair of black tennis shoes. Practice times- Starting Tuesday, July 28th, practice will go from 8:00 am- 11:00 am until further notice! Please let us know ASAP if you have any conflicts. The following needs to be complete before school starts:

TOMORROW is our first practice! Here are a few reminders and important due dates:
-Tennis/athletic shoes for workouts -Ankle weights* -Dress in all black dance wear (think tryout week) -Hair back in a clean, tight bun, ponytail, braid, etc** -WATER BOTTLE (NOT OPTIONAL) -Snack (not mandatory but always a good idea) *If you have not yet purchased ankle weights, you must have them by Tuesday, June 22nd. You can purchase these on Amazon, or at any sporting good store like Dick's or Dunam's. Get whatever weight you are comfortable with (between 3-5lbs) and they should be between $10-$20. **Please do not roll out of bed at 8:45, throw your hair back and show up to practice half asleep with no breakfast. If this appears to be happening we will send you home. You are to come to practice looking like a dancer ready for tryouts. Wake up early, eat a wholesome breakfast, drink lots of liquids, take time to do your hair and show up like this is your job. Your practices will be filled with lots of vigorous endurance/strength training and dance skills workshops, along with preparing for your competition routines. You will leave practices exhausted, so please prepare and take care of your bodies! Please bring a list of dates you will be missing this summer to put in our dance planner! For those of you who didn’t make it, here is an outline/overview of what we went over: Introductions Contacts form Athletics paperwork WWHS Athletics Website Forms/Registration Tab Due August 4th: Physical & $150 Athletic fee to Teri Abraham Packet turn-in We still need 3 packets. Your packet is your acceptance on to the team. If you have not turned this in please make arrangements with us, or mail the signed packet to Waukesha West, Attention: Dance Team. Camp Information Wisconsin Dells Chula Vista Resort Camp July 13th through the 16th. Camp payment was due Thursday, May 21st! If you still need to make payment, please make arrangements with us, or mail the $355 check to Waukesha West, Attention: Dance Team. Payments made out to WWHS. Morale Booster MB payment was also due on May 21st. Please pay cash or check to Nikki Clement. Make arrangements to see us, Nikki/Baylee or mail the payment to the above address. REMIND APP: Like last year, we will be utilizing the Remind Application. All dancers and dancer’s parents will need to sign up to receive important information throughout the year. Please visit https://www.remind.com/ , click “I am a student or parent,” enter code (if dancer) wwhsdance, (if parent) wwhspar, then enter your cell phone number. This is how we will be doing most of our communicating. We use this app to remind you to check the website for new information, remind you about upcoming payments, event information, last minute changes, etc. It proved to be very useful last season! If you were signed up last season, you do not need to sign up again. Just the newbies and any parents/guardians who were not signed up last season. This was to be done by Thursday, May 21st so if you have not done this, please get to it! Office hours, contacting your coaches and new gmail account We will be implementing “office hours” this year. Stay tuned for details as we get settled into the new season! Also, to promote consistency and more efficient communication, we will be using our dance team email address from here on out: [email protected] Please do not contact us on our personal email addresses anymore- unless it is not dance related, of course! Also, feel free to text/call us if you need to- Coach Madaus: 414-517-7898, Coach Gatlin: 262-939-2590. We may send a remind message out asking for your t shirt size, for example. This is a good time to just shoot us a text; no need to compose an email. If you are texting us, though, we just ask that you send the text message to both of us if it’s dance team related. With that being said, for the new dancers, when you read this information please go ahead and add and save our cell phone numbers. We use the Remind App for mass text information but we definitely text/call you on an individual basis if needed as well. If you are not a “texter” or do not have a smart phone, please let us know and we will find another form of communication. It is your responsibility to let us know this, though! This upcoming week you will find attachments of all of the paperwork needed to be turned in at this meeting. Reviewing and signing this paperwork will be your official acceptance on the team. If it is not handed in on or before the 14th then you decline your position as a West Dance Team member. Keep an eye out for your paperwork in the "forms and flyers" tab this week.
Please remember that anyone who tried out for the dance team is welcome to see their score sheets and discuss their results with their coaches at anytime!
